Being able to do some basic makeup looks/skills is a huge asset in the entertainment industry especially if you're just starting out and on a budget. Hiring a makeup artist is great, but if you need to cut costs, learn how to do things yourself or at least have a working knowledge of what your makeup artist is doing and why.
Here is a great photo with step-by-step of how to contour and highlight your face. Contouring allows for sculpting your face's best assets and accentuating your features and highlighting brings light to your face in the right places. Both of these are essentials for photo shoot's and if done right can make your photos 10x better and more appealing to casting director's looking at your picture. Trust us when we tell you that photos can make or break if you even get an audition, so if you haven't been getting anything lately maybe it's time to update your photos!
Below is a photo that makes contouring/highlighting and applying blush super easy to understand. Apply your bronzer with an angled brush for contouring your cheeks - under your cheek bones. Add blush above that as well as slightly on the apples of your cheeks and highlight above your cheekbones. Some other area's to add bronzer would be your hairline and jawline and add highlighter in the middle of your forehead, down the bridge of your nose and the center of your chin.
Enjoy!
